Hi, we are Tolani & Tunrayo.
‘About Me’ pages are nerve-racking to write. It makes you take a step back to examine who you are and how you want to be perceived by your audience.
We are identical twins and have a lot of the same interests. We write about AI tools and content marketing.
At the moment, I can think of only one thing we don’t share an interest in —Calligraphy (the art of beautiful handwriting).
Something must have gone wrong in the womb for a certain person (Tolani) to not grin from ear to ear at the sight of a well-done flourish. 😋
We always knew we wanted to be entrepreneurs, but we never could decide what path to take.
We became drawn to the idea of being online business owners when we realized how much we enjoyed binge-reading long-form articles about digital marketing and entrepreneurship.
Every article we read helped us familiarise ourselves with this fascinating industry until we decided, ‘this is what I want to do’.
In late 2020, we moved to a smaller city where we started working on a fruit and vegetable farm.
We ran into all kinds of creatures like snakes (luckily only constrictors), scorpions (lots 🤪), monitor lizards (Tunrayo called it a Komodo dragon 🙄 when she saw it), and what I suspect are hawks swooping down to grab unsuspecting chickens eating from the compost pile.
While all this was going on, we started working on starting our online business on the side.
A while later, we launched our business, and it went from something abstract to applying all we learned and getting real-world results with content marketing.
In the beginning, nothing went right. From setting up web hosting (we raised three tickets in 24 hours), building our website (our blog archive page disappeared from WordPress. Still don’t know how that happened.), and setting up Google Analytics & Console (error message after error message).
It felt like the technical stuff was going to break us, and we would never actually get to the point of creating content. But we prayed, and I believe the Lord directed us to fix some of these issues without knowing what the heck we were doing.
This blog exists to make choosing your software stack easier.
